ABOUT GLORIOUS GAME

We know that a day’s shooting is as memorable as much for the hospitality as for the sport itself and our days include whatever our guests require - from traditional shoot lunches in grand houses to pheasant and chorizo wraps in the field. While a member of the Glorious Game team will always be with you to help your day go perfectly, our shoot days are often hosted by our estate owners giving days a warm, uncommercial feel. We know only too well that people who love their shooting are invariably busy; with eight or nine guns and sometimes their partners to consider, there’s often a lot to remember and to forget too. Temporary shotgun certificates for overseas visitors, those must-have cartridges, advice on etiquette, an instructor for a teenager’s first ever driven day, allergies and important dietary requirements? We’ll take care of it all.

If you’ve decided against coming to one of our shoots the night before, you’ll instantly begin to relax as the bangers and the sizzling bacon are paired with the rolls; your toughest decision at this juncture should only be ketchup or HP. With tea or some freshly brewed coffee, you’ll draw pegs and see who’ll be poaching from whom and then the banter can really start. We usually have two or three drives prior to elevenses, followed by one or two further drives before adjourning to the main house or shoot lodge for lunch. Depending on the bag there will be a further one or two drives in the afternoon complete the day’s shooting before returning to the house for tea and cake.
