A smart tweed flat cap: Christies make a fantastic range in a variety of styles. We also have our own caps made in our signature tweed by another British manufacturer, Olney.  Here we also have to recommend hearing protection – this is essential after all it’s your hearing at stake. Hearing Electronics are one of the best in -ear makes on the market, we arrange for your ears to be molded, either here or at your office, alternatively we would recommend Peltor or Sordin for over-ear.  Eye protection is also advisable particularly when grouse shooting.

The Top Half

Start with a good shirt, we have a wide range from Schoffel, Harkila and Laksen.  Follow this with a tie then a jumper or gilet – again look at the range from Schoffel or Laksen.  Finally a good quality shooting jacket in tweed or modern performance fabric.  Once again, we would recommend Schoffel or Harkila.  However, if you want something very stylish, then  for men there is London’s smartest tweed produced exclusively for West London Shooting School.

The Lower Half of the Body

Firstly you need plus 2s or plus 4s, our preference is for plus 4s as they are a bit longer and are better for the taller person. Schoffel, Laksen and our own brand do a number of different styles and fabrics.

 For the Feet

Traditional good quality shooting socks and garters, whether our own made in Scotland or those from Schoffel or Percy Ivor are always a good choice. Ensure you then wear decent pair of wellington boots from Harkila, Hunter or Le Chameau.  If you don’t want a wellie then we can highly recommend the Harkila walking boot range  – greater support and with the BOA system easier to get on and off!
