‘Thanks for the coaching last week, shot better than I have in my life on Tuesday at Queensberry Estate. Some very high pheasant and some very fast partridge, great fun and I shot some cracking birds. Thanks for the top tips.’

The highlight of the trip was definitely my hour of instruction with Mr. Heath.

It felt like it was fifteen minutes as my learning curve was steep.  Mr. Heath though was very patient and repeated instructions to get me hitting clays.  I had never shot officially at a driven clay much less a bird, so it was was not only challenging, but also fun to see what I could do.  All the hunting of pheasant and quail I do here at home is walked up or "rough" shooting.  I would highly recommend to any fellow American that plans to visit England to block out an afternoon at West London Shooting School and take their best shot at it too.  The grounds were very well laid out and the atmosphere was professional and friendly.  If you are thinking of hunting driven pheasant this coming Fall over in England for the first time, I would make it a requirement for at least three days of lessons. Mr. Heath also taught me peg etiquette and safety.  As I asked for the sake of information how much a day of driven shooting is those lessons would be a valuable investment indeed.
